detail: In 1996, Jurij Sadar and Bostjan Vuga established the architecture firm Sadar Vuga Arhitekti (SVA) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In the past ten years, Sadar Vuga Aritekti has positioned itself as one of the critical European architectural practices, with its production and communication design based on open, integral and inventive manner. Since its' beginning, SVA has won eight competitions, has designed more than one hundred projects, of which twenty-two are built. SVA is not specialized in a particular branch of architectural design: with its inventive, often also challenging approach, it covers wide production spectrum, ranging from urban planning to interior design. SVA is the recipient of numerous design awards including Trend Awards (2005, 2001), two ECCS Steel Design Awards (2001 and 2003), Bauwelt Prize for the first building (2001), Piranesi Award (1999), Mies van der Rohe Award (2001). Their work has been included the Venice Biennale (2004 and 2006), New trends of Architecture in Europe and Asia Pacific (2004-2005) 6X:PACK, Slovenian contemporary architecture (2003-2005) and Archilab, Orleans France (2000 and 2001).
