info: 619-234-1001; info@mcasandiego.org
detail: As important as his extensive experience, Michael Wishkoski has an abiding respect for the artistry of historic structures and an unfailing fascination for the stories they tell. Early in his career as an intern under a Beaux Arts trained architect, Michael learned to value the classical sensibility of enduring craftsmanship and exacting detail that is a hallmark of historic buildings. Guiding a historic renovation project requires sensitivity and appreciation for the unique character of the building.Michael has been involved with the renovation and adaptive reuse conversion of numerous projects in the Puget Sound Region. He managed the transformation of the Monte Cristo in Everett from a landmark Second Renaissance Revival Style hotel into a mixed-use senior housing and banquet facility. He was instrumental in the restoration of both the Collins Building and the Hoge Building in Pioneer Square. And he was part of the team that created a dynamic mix of low income apartments and community theater uses at the former Eagles Auditorium. Currently, Michael is managing the renovation of the Cobb Building as it makes the transition from a century of use as medical and dental offices to luxury apartments with a distinctive downtown address. Tickets: $12 members/students, $15 non-members; $15-18 at-the-door. Part of the Interrobang lecture series. More info on-line.
