detail: Celebrating the closing of The Undiscovered Country -- the acclaimed exhibition that welcomes visitors with a "come-one, come-all accessibility" (Los Angeles Times) -- the HAMMER BASH! is a free, late night party that features extended gallery hours until 11pm, FREE museum admission, a cash bar, live music, and giveaways. The Undiscovered Country examines the vitality of representational painting from the 1960s to the present with works by 23 artists and is on display through January 16, 2005. The HAMMER BASH! is a series of late-night parties that are free to the public and coincide with the close of the Museum's main exhibitions. This series began as a last chance viewing of the groundbreaking Lee Bontecou retrospective in January 2004.
