One of the aspects of this event will look at the distinction between the traditional notion of motion graphics and broadcast design and the newer term "creative collective." We will explore the concept that motion graphics and broadcast creatives are not just designers, they are a group of people from different backgrounds that do a kind of visual work that falls somewhere between advertising, short film and design...they are are “visual storytellers."
We will discuss how small motion graphics companies are expanding the
traditional role of design to include wider areas in advertising and filmmaking, and learn how designers can make that leap from print or "flat art on paper" to motion graphics and information. We will find out what's next in the field and how new developments in motion graphics will change the profession. Our distinguished speakers: Karin Fong-Imaginary Forces, Jonathan Wells-Resfest, Mathew Cullen-Motion Theory, Jesus de Francisco-Motion Theory, Kozy and Dan-KOZYNDAN. AIGA members: $15, AIGA student members: $10, non-members: $30, student non-members: $20. Register on-line.
