reality-vision

Reality vision: [as seen in San Diego] This week the new Price Center opened at UCSD. Super-slick modernist stuff. But, oh, ooops... the bottom corner of the building; it's already chipped!

reality-vision

Reality vision: [as seen in San Diego] At yet another opening at the MCASD, we have work by Wiliam Feeney, who plays with the fetishes, fears, and aspirations of the North American male. The piece shown below allowed visitors to experience an escape from the oppressive clutches of a 'standard' school desk (admission fee: 1 quarter).

reality-vision

Reality vision: [as seen in San Diego] A house for 'botanica'. This is a public project that inspires a framed, itemized consideration of nature. Like the protective glass cases (and greenhouses) of British lore, it protects the plants inside. But these plants are already dead, in water-filled vases... collected and replaced time and time again. Here the surrounding nature is mutilated so that the short-lived 'instructional example' may continue to enlighten one more day.
